CIMC Enric Secured New Orders for Two LNG Carrier and Bunkering Vessels

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "CIMC SOE"), a subsidiary of CIMC Enric, has signed an order with Vitol International Shipping Pte Ltd, an internationally renowned shipping company (hereinafter referred to as “VIS”), for the construction of two new LNG vessels, including one 12,500m³ LNG bunkering vessel and one 20,000m³ LNG carrier and bunkering vessel.

It has been learned that Vitol is the world’s largest independent trader of energy, its Singapore-based shipping company VIS manages all the shipping activities of the group, as well as offers services to third parties. This is the first time CIMC Enric has received a new vessel construction order from this shipowner. This order will further enhance Vitol’s marine fuel supplies offering and highlight the global influence of CIMC SOE in the field of LNG bunkering vessels.

It is worth mentioning that the newly contracted vessels will adopt the company’s latest LNG bunkering vessel design, which fully considers the safety, economy, and environmental protection of the ships. Additionally, these vessels will possess excellent transportation and bunkering capabilities, meeting the current market’s urgent demand for safe, efficient and environmentally friendly LNG vessels.

As a leading offshore engineering equipment manufacturer in China, CIMC Enric’s CIMC SOE has been widely favoured by the market due to its high-quality and high-performance design and construction capabilities for small and medium-sized liquefied gas carriers. Since 2023, CIMC SOE has continuously secured new orders, including four 40,000m³ LPG/liquid ammonia carriers and two 20,000m³ LNG bunkering vessels. The company’s new orders have increased in both volume and price.

As of May 2024, CIMC Enric’s new orders for offshore clean energy business reached RMB5.781 billion, representing a significant year-on-year increase of 278.09%. The backlog orders for offshore clean energy business amounted to a record high of RMB14.161 billion as of the end of May, up 184.81% year on year.
